Things are just different once you leave highly populated areas. Its a whole other world really.

The only thing we have problems with is underage drinking due to the lack of activities, unless its sport season.

Around here, the school invites parents to be very active in their kid's education. You can walk in and out of class and listen to what is being taught anytime you like.

That also comes with a slew of issues. Parental bias, socialization, etc etc. I would assume it is the lesser of two evils at this point.

I think that is becoming less and less of an issue these days as people are starting to see how well home schooled kids perform in college exams and life in general.

Carpenter is only two but we plan to home school him. All but one family in our neighborhood home school and that family has severely autistic kids. At church we have several families that home school as well. I know one kid getting ready to attend MIT next year. One lady home schooled all three of her kids. One is now a lawyer, the other a doctor, and the last a nurse.

With the school system as jacked as it is, I think home schooling is just setting your kid up for success.

It's never too late to move out to the country. Just make sure you got snake shot and a 22.
