But that is me. The old bed I would wake up every night more than once. Back hurting or stiff as nails sometimes.

With that new bed. I can sleep all night without waking up. We will see in about 6months if it was worth it. But no complaints yet.
srsly, this thing is really comfortable!!

    god bless.

I bought a king (sealy maybe?) a few years ago in Oregon that developed a pretty decent 'sag' in the middle. I always thought it was the shit ass mattress, but when i built myself the platform for the bed recently and put the mattress on, most of the valley has now disappeared. Are you guys using the bed on top of foundation/box springs? If so, that *could* be part of your problem. It was a huge difference in feel going from foundation to the solid platform, and my back has been happier ever since. I still need to design and build the headboard and footboard, but here's what i have so far. frame is 2x12 on the uprights and 2x10 on the slats, this fucker is solid as hell.

Let me know how it does once the heat rolls in. I'm genuinely curious.

If you pay attention to mfr's warranties, they are often dependent upon the purchase of a new box spring with mattress. They will deny warranty if you didn't buy them at the same time. Which I think is odd, because I would think a supported platform would be better for a mattress to begin with.

Dig deep and get a good one from a reputable place. Cant put a price on a good nights sleep. Even if the knock off store provides good waranty replacement, what if they close up shop?
We've had our Tempurpedic about 5 years now....my only complaints are that I still think it was a little too pricey, it is hot in the summer time, and of course extra firm when it gets cold in the winter (until your body heat softens it up some), and we also had to have ours replaced under warranty last year b/c it began sloping pretty bad on my side (I'm ~215-220lbs).

The good thing is that the warranty is 10-years and was truly no questions asked...they brought us a new one, took the old one, and I didn't have to lift a finger.

We also found a decent solution to the summer heat problem.....one of their reps recommended bamboo sheets, which helped considerably...but also a bit pricey for the good ones.

interesting. I'll have to look into that.

I've abused a spring air queen for the past 11 years and it still sleeps great. It survived a shattered box spring and a bed frame snap. It has a little center sag now. The (few) girls always compliment how good they sleep but that might be from the roofies.

                  Definitely the roofies.

I got a split king foundation with the bed, but its on cl now as I love how the platform feels. I may just go ahead and build platforms for all the beds in the house.

That was the condition of the warranty on what I bought last year. Kind of sucks, I was just going to reuse my old one. Those fuckers better not deny anything if I ever have any problems.

we bought a Serta Prodigy mattress in december to replace our temperpedic. Took me a while to adjust. I sleep longer without waking up, but I have a really hard time waking up now. I dont know if thats a good or bad thing.

A lot of beds are already built around platforms and don't have room for a box spring. That's how mine is.

Beds are, but I'm talking about mattress manufacturer warranties.

Right; I'm just saying that I don't have the option to use a box spring with my bed. That's dumb as hell if that voids the warranty, but oh well.

We had the Westin type Stearns and Foster "heavenly bed" that after five years wasn't so heavenly and despite their warranties- somehow, ours wasn't hollowed out enough to qualify.

Tried one of the middle of the line Tempurpedic foams priced at about $2200 but traded up to the Rhapsody model with the gel top within their 30 day time limit. Pricy at about $4 grand- but wife and I no longer wake up with a sore back so it's worth it.
