In Hawaii I worked at the Ford dealer, GM dealer, Audi dealer.... actually I worked at every dealership (not mom and pop ones) on Maui. LOL

This was before interwebz days (98-01) and we always had a "Lost Leader" ad car or truck. Vehicle actually existed and was usually hidden and everyone always new better than to ask the GM or GSM where it was. You were also given a $50 mini payout on it should you sell it plus you had to buy your sales team lunch. So we never sold it or said it was sold. LOL
Only one time did I catch a customer that asked me about the "Lost Leader" truck and being I just made an insane commission on an earlier sale (Sold a 91 MR2 for $2500 and made a $12,000 profit.... wrap your head around that) and the guy was a friend of my fathers I figured I would sell the truck to make that magic 30th unit for the month wich would be a $2000 bonus.
Well I find the truck and its dirty, flat tire, dead battery and out of gas. Dude didn't care. Was a brand new 2001 Ranger 4-door stepside with the 3.0 for $10k.
GSM threatened to not pay me my bonus too because they were so pissed. Was like a $5000 loss. LOL
My sales were so high that they had to give it to me though. I made lots of money at dealers but it ate away at me bad. Condo on the beach, brand new S4 in the garage money to burn yet I could never sleep. Quit the job and went back to PLC installation and hated it but I could sleep at night.

That's why when I sell cars now I give people such good deals. Always way below book and always fully fixed with documentation. These people become friends and send me repair business and even bring cake or do free vet work on my cat because I was honest and gave them a great deal. Best yet, I still make a living and can sleep at night.
Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Proves you are a good man. Also I know the feeling on the lost sleep. Life is full of choices and it seems like you have chosen well sir. Kudos to you.
