"You're an idiot." What a lousy phrase. Yes, you can find an SRT8 for that, as well as 1st gen CTS-Vs. It's only a matter of patience and keeping an eye on the market.

I want room, super comfortable seats, plenty of power, RWD, decent mileage and the ability to seat four just not four all the time.
I enjoyed my Goat. It had comfortable seats, good sound (torquer V3 cam...mmm), and it'd scoot fairly well considering its extraordinary weight issue.

I wanted one until I saw the GXP...

It's like the 05-07 'Vettes and the 08+ models. The older ones are no longer appealing, knowing that a slightly different model has the LS3

Granted these don't have only 75 k on them but they are out there and that was just glancing on Autotrader. There are also ones on craigslist in Houston and San Antonio foe 13 and some change.

Man, brutal. I loved my RT Magnum but it didn't last. Long story, lol. Goods and bads I have seen on the LX platform. Good engines with mild mods, good looks as long as they arent Ghetto'd out. Nicer interiors that are eye appealing for the age. Great ride quality even in the SRT. Now the bads, the car cannot take a hit, especially soft in the rear, the rearends are benzo and pop under power, the front suspention wears out quickly with wheels over 17", the HAVAC system frys often with dual climate control, the brake boosters "moo", the steering squeaks, interiors rot if the car isnt garage kept, the key fobs fall apart. I may be missing a few things on both sides but that is all that comes to mind. With saying all that I would still take one over a CTS, I know it is a better car but the interior on the first gens (same years as comarable LX cars) is shit, very embarrasing for Cadillac, almost Catera bad. This gen is better on both sides IMO.

Moo like a cow? And the rear ends pop anti-anxiety drugs? Yikes. Good thing I didn't buy it. Time for making cakeing.

BTW, this threads title was just generalization. I know a lot of you sell cars and are up front and honest about them. I sell a few as well and don't BS people about them. I used to be the GSM at an Audi dealer too. As a sales person I was instructed to lie to customers and after a couple months I couldn't take it any more and after going to a few dealers I realized most are the same way. That's why when I buy a car to flip the customer also becomes a friend and repeat person. I tell them what I did to the car, supply receipts, tell them what the car will need in XXX miles and just be honest about it. I don't make a killing when I sell the car but I pay the bills and can feel good knowing I gave someone a good deal on a solid car that they normally wouldn't be able to afford.

I have spoken to a few on here that do the same and I salute you. Too many ass hats out there making anyone that sells a car look bad.

You are always upfront about your cars, and seem to avoid turds to polish up and flip in a hurry. Not counting on your next meal from the sale is a good thing too, it keeps you honest.

after the ass pounding I took at GVF last time, pretty sure I'll be avoiding dealer purchases altogether in the future. They are all crooks....aside from some of the little guys that is.

I spent the past 3 days in Seattle hitting many dealers trying to find my son a car. I have to admit, it's nothing like it used to be and was - while draining, pretty painless.

Obviously the internet pricing is damn near what their bottom dollar is, but a lot of the games are cut out. Ultimately we stopped by one last dealer on the way to buy him a Ford Focus, and thought it wouldn't hurt to check this one out.

Long story short, they had a better car than we were going to buy and got it cheaper. I flat out told him we were on our way to another dealer to buy a car and wanted to see if they had any comparable. He said I don't at this store but follow me to my other one, it's on the way to X dealer you're heading to, can you do that?

Said sure. Within 20 minutes we went straight to the manager and made an offer, they accepted (great deal, btw) and we are all happy.

I've been on the other side of that coin as well, though. "Aww, sorry, that just sold." Mother fucker, I called here an hour ago and you said it was still here! I swear it's a ruse and the car doesn't exist or is their ploy....

                                I hate car shopping. period.
