Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

I don't get the hate on Dodge trucks. I avoid most dodge cars like the plague, but I have several Rams and they were all tough as nails. My dad had a 94 Ram that he got with 80K on it. Had a cracked piston that he swapped out, it then went 200K miles without issue. Then he got a 98 Ram with 135K on it. It needed a transmission at 240K, but only because he flushed and filled with mercon. Now it's at 275K and I still use it as a tow truck. Had a 98 ram V6, a 97 Dakota V6, and a 2000 Ram 5.9L and never had an issue with any of them.

I've had more trouble with Chevy and 97+ Ford trucks than anything else.

Good call on the LS2 GTO, I would take it over a 300c any day of the week. You might get lucky and find a 1st gen CTS-V for that price.

EDIT: I guess very dumb of me. Car was not sold last night. They moved it to their San Antonio location and jacked the price up $7000 more.

This is why they are scum.
If its an autonation store means that car has been there a while if it was ending at 00 means they were losing money on it and were about to move to another store, usually like that for 2-3 days before it gets shipped.

ending in 99 means going to auction in a couple of days
1-4 is how long its been there (4 being longest most incentive to move it)

Thats what it was 3yrs ago not sure how it is now just fyi.

People have been out of their minds on the 1st gens recently. Most I see are up around 18K, the cheapest on craigslist is 13.5K. Only issues that I know of are with the rear ends on them.

And the nav is completely useless and has no iPod hookup (or bluetooth). Other than that they're fun cars. 28mpg highway too.

The cheapest advertised price I have ever seen on a 300C SRT8 south of 80k miles was 15.5 for one with 65k miles. Even at 12k I wouldn't buy it.

That's why I went down there with cash. I could see in the pictures it was an SRT8. I knew it was a dealer and not some kid waiting to rob me. I confirmed the price and the car was available so I went. Price was too good to pass up.

Screw it, I will just continue to save for what I really want (2003-2006 CL65) and get something not terrible that's around 4 or 5k now. I like the 2000-2003 SSEi cars and know their mechanicals well enough so that's an option. Not a whole lot in that price range that's big with lots of features and good power and kinda fun to drive. I am burnt out on Mark VIIIs.

G35's are getting down around the 5K range for higher mileage ones. I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but the RX8 is also down to the 5K range. I had an 04 and I really enjoyed driving it. It's not a "big" car, but it does have 4 doors and I was comfortable riding in the back seat.

04-05 CTSV? Or do you not want a manual?

The shop was the best thing I did so far. Lower overhead and we always have at least two cars in for work. At the old place we could go 4 days doing nothing. That and I have been saving a little here and there over the last couple years for something down the road. That SRT just kinda made me change my plans a little but since it fell through I will just continue to put it in the savings account for a rainy day or until I reach that magic number for a CL65 and the money to keep it maintained. LOL

I don't like the interiors. Plus people want too much. I didn't need the 300 SRT but at $13000 (after fees) it was just too good of a deal. Like I just said, I will just save for what I really want instead of settling.
I still need a decent car for now though cause I am just so tired of my truck. I miss cars. I am a car guy. Id like to find a clean SSEi so I can have a couch with a blower.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.
