I hate car dealers. They can lick my taint. I need something fun and comfy to drive as I am sick of going 30k miles a year in a 20 year old truck. I have always liked the Chrysler 300C SRT8 and after working on a few, they are nice to work on. Lots of room, parts are cheap and they are just really well built, Not typical for Dodge cars. One popped up near by (45 miles) that was the perfect color and low miles and at a stellar price. Called them up and the salesman said the car was there and he was looking at it. Great! I am on my way. I get there and see a used 300C but no SRT8. Dude directs me to that car and I explain while its the same color and year older, that aint the car. He says the car sold 2 hours ago..... WTF, I just spoke to you 45 minutes ago. So he wants to show me the 300C. I don't want a 300C but I sit in it anyway. I fire it up and can feel the miss right away and then I see it has 128,000 miles on it. Its nice car but with issues but I also want the seats/brakes/wheels/engine/suspension/transmission changes from the SRT. He says he will give me a smoking deal, $2000 more than the SRT was advertised for. I almost punched him. Year older, 50k MORE MILES, misfire, bald tires and most important its NOT A FUCKING SRT8!
This is why I only buy from individuals. I hate the bait and switch.
The SRT8 only had 75k on it and was listed at 12,900. He tells me $14,995 for the 300c because he wants to hook me up for the mistake. Really? That's nice they hire special needs people there. I walk away and he shouts "How about $12000?". Nope. Then his manager tries to stop me at the truck and says "What about $9000 plus fees right now?" Nope. Don't want the regular 300C. That's when he insults me and becomes rude (I am in my mechanic clothes and unshaven) and said "You must not be serious and only wanted to joy ride it." I give the O'rly face, reach in my truck and pull out a $10,000 stack in $100s from the cash box (needed to stop at the bank lol) and had another 2000 in my pocket. Loved his face when he realized what he just did, he was tripping over himself trying to act like he was joking and we were old drinking buddies or something. Then stats saying he can give me the SRT8 Charger they had for that. He points at it, I wanted to puke. Bright yellow, bumble bee stipe, an actual "Fast and the Furious" sticker plus tire/exhaust/intake stickers on the side and some 24" please kill me now wheels.
Now I know why when I flip a car my customers are happy. If they have to deal with idiots like that before its no wonder people are leery of buying a used car.
