The lessons at Copper Mountain are 3hrs for the half day.... that doesn't really sound like much of a lesson? Thoughts from those that took lessons before? For a first timer, I don't plan on getting crazy out there. Doing the half day will leave funds for a snow mobile tour but 3 hrs doesn't seem like much

Three hours is plenty. If you are in average shape, you will be worn out before then.

I started skiing in Jr High because we had a ski club at school that had a great deal on lift, rentals and lessons. We would go on Wednesdays right after school (just hopped on a bus, slopes were about 1.5 hours away).

The first time I went, a couple of friends and I spent some time on the bunny slope while waiting on our class to start. By the time class had started I had already figured out the basics. I stayed in the class for about an hour and they were still showing us how to get up after a fall. I skied away and never went back. lol

By the third or fourth trip I was comfortable going on the black diamond stuff (not moguls though), going off some small jumps, and generally just hauling ass as fast as I could go.

It's been years and I would like to go again. I miss having a mountain in my "back yard". I really loved the night skiing mid week like that. Way less crowded, easy to get away from the masses, and often that allowed the snow to re-freeze which made the hills really fast.

              Looks nice!

The worst sunburn I have ever had was skiing on a sunny day like that. It was warm so I had nothing on my face / head and I had blisters over my entire face and scalp.

Make sure to wear sunblock! At least if you're a ginger like me.
