I won't comment to any of the rest that is going on in here, but the statement above is horseshit. That's how business works. ESPECIALLY construction. I've been on the commercial side of things for 13 years. GC's would send out a bid tabulation, and you knew what your competitors bid at. Then they would take the 3 lowest bids, and tell them they need to pull x dollar amount or x% out of it, and low bid wins the contract. These days they don't send the tabulations anymore, they just call up every bidder and tell them they need to pull whatever amount out. It's the same thing with my channel partners. I work deals, and if someone beats my price, I take a second run at it. This is how shit works any time you have competition.

We are not about talking corporate business here. We are talking about small business between people who knew each other. Do you take low bid when people do work around your house?

As it relates to underbidding I get that, but it's shady to look at other peoples bids and then reprice your job to win the work.

I have not really used anyone on the board here...I would hate for some of ya'll to even know where I live considering some of the stuff that is spilled here.

However, Mike C did do my roof, he actually dicked around with my insurance company for me to get a fair estimate. They tried to jerk me around and he offered to deal with them directly due to his knowledge of the materials and labor needed.

His crew was exceptional as far as cleanup, workmanship and politeness. Mike undercut everyone I talked to (roofing companies) and he out bid (informal) them by at least a $1k, more in some cases. Mike even gave me three options as far as replacement and worked up cost on each.

Not sure what other people’s personal problems are with him, I have none and the only dealings I have are professional, business related and based off those experiences, Mike C will get a call from me as long as something needs to be done.
