At the end of the day, you got a very good price, you said as much yourself. If you can't understand the foot traffic and mud, not sure what to tell you.


As for the rest of you, really not surprised. At all.

It was muddy because they dumped the dirt from the holes all over the yard. It would have been wet grass otherwise.

It saved me money in the long run, but the savings wasn't worth the headache. I would have kept searching for another contractor had I known. Hind site is 20/20.

I just had a pool put in and they destroyed pretty much my entire yard, but as expected they repaired all the dirt work and grass.

Why would you wait over a year to make a complaint to the owner of the business if you were really that dissatisfied with the quality of work or any other facet of the project? Not to mention, why did you pay him in full if you were not satisfied with the quality of work? Also, why would you pay someone if they couldn't provide documentation of payment on the spot or in advance? Something doesn't add up here. Maybe you need to educate yourself a little bit more. It almost sounds like you're trying to play the naive card here.

I did complain to the contractor and to Mike himself. Neither seemed to be to concerned about fixing the problem and I wasn't going to get in a pissing match.

I paid after he hounded me about it and giving me sob stories about a broken truck. The work was complete and I felt I could trust him to follow through with what he said he would do. Again hind site is 20/20. I've had fairly good luck in hiring contractors over the years so I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm far from naive, but at times go with my gut rather than my head.

While business is business, you try and help people out like our board members. There are things you can overlook and you keep your mouth shut.

I have had 2 contractors out to my house. Drywall guy who did a great job but left a fucking mess. He was a recommendation off of this board. His crew did a great job and took pride in their work...the downside was they left a mess of trash (cans, lunch bags, etc) and didnt haul away drywall scrap. I can overlook this because they did a phenomenal job.

I had a brick crew out at the house patching up some brick. They did a great job but again, left a mess of cans, trash, cigarette butts. They also didnt clean up any of the brick after they cut it, it just sat in the lawn. While I wasnt that happy, I can overlook it because they did a great job. These are things you dont complain about because it is not worth the time or trying to jew someone out of money.

Bitches should be cleaning up. I would mention it to Albert because he lives off word of mouth. Contractors aren't very clean in generally sadly.

As it relates to underbidding I get that, but it's shady to look at other peoples bids and then reprice your job to win the work.

That being said I have a negative review for you. Your crew destroyed the front yard at my rent house and I was told it was par for the course. Did a piss pour job with concrete patches and left a general mess (food wrappers and cans). Again told by your guy it was par for the course. It also took 2 months to get a receipt and final repair paperwork after you were paid. Not to mention I basically begged you to get me quotes on drywall repair, bathroom remodel and new flooring. You never delivered one single quote after I waited around for over a month. Before you tell these people you are trying to feed your family you need to work on your follow through and GC skills.

You happen to be standing in 6" of mud with myself and the foundation guy when I stated "Where is my grass?" and my response of "Fuck that sucks". You responded with once it rains some it will level out and that I should just re seed it.

I paid you half up front (poor choice) to which you were unable to provide a receipt for at the time I handed you a check. I requested numerous times for receipts, foundation survey and warranty paperwork. Your delay in payment was due to you unable to get the paperwork from your sub.

If you had no interest in doing the quotes why did you string it along for over a month? Be a man and say I'm not interested.

Point being you are a lack luster GC, poor business man and don't appear to be a stand up guy. I avoided stating anything publicly about you because I know what word of mouth does to a business. However when you got so high and mighty in here, you and the others needed to be told the truth.
