The results were interesting, to say the least...

Country Living magazine's top three answers were:
    1. Nuclear war/terrorist attack in U.S.
    2. Child/spouse dying/terminal illness.
    3. Terminal illness/self.

EBONY/Jet magazine's top three answers were:
    1. Ghosts.
    2. Dogs.
    3. Registered mail.
That last one made me laugh

im a cynical bastard, but i have also had some legit ghost experiences. I had alot of experiences at an old rent house in weatherford near a cemetary that were pretty crazy. At this house that we bought recently, which is my wifes early childhood home, i notice that sometimes late at night if im outside and i look into the woods in a certain direction i see *something* watching me and i get super dizzy and the hair stands up on my neck. come to find out my wifes dad used to see the same thing and thats why they sold this house. Lol.

One time I was all the way leaned back in my lounge chair and saw my entire living room ceiling dissolve into a rippling lace swimming pool of blue and green, while Jumpin' Jack Flash boomed on my surround sound. I decided after that I was going to stop doing mushrooms.

Man ghosts sure are some scamps. Always moving hangers or waiting around in basements to blow on the backs of necks of people walking by. Sure hope I never experience such horror.

My cousin has always talked about a ghost that lived in his closet, a young girl named Sally. Sounds like great fodder for a DFWM joke, but he has talked about playing with her and conversing with her since he was about five years old. My aunt and uncle confirmed seeing her a couple of times.

Years ago I was at that house watching movies with them, and by the light of the TV we all caught a glimpse of someone walking by in the hallway. There was no one else in the house. I don't believe in ghosts but that shit was weird.

I love ghost stories though the demonic ones are always interesting to me more so than the "good" ghost stories. They say that if you believe, you are more likely to have an experience and that if you fear or give off the sense of fear, the sprit grows in ability.

<---figures it doesn’t cost me anything to believe and at the least, if something does happen, I won’t be as surprised.

A good show on the Sci-Fi channel is Paranormal Witness, basically stories and re-enactments vs. a bunch of douches running around a old building provoking the sprits. The most recent episode involved 10050 Cielo Dr in CA, where Sharon Tate was murdered along with her 3 friends. A guy down the street, whom still lives there to this day, was on the show explaining how he was experiencing some things after building a house 5 houses down. Now I am over here Googling the crime scene photos, reading up on the house (Trent Resnor lived there till 93') and looking at the Mansion that now sits on the lot (Google Earth).

My story, my family lives in two houses on a total of 4 lots of property here in South Irving. Never had a problem with anything and as a kid, I used to play in the backyard quite a bit. We had three carports and a BUNCH of old 50’s Dodges back there so plenty to get into. My Great grandfather had (still there but he isn’t) a 6 car brick detached garage that he spent A LOT of time in. I used to park my car back there at night and never really had any feelings, just parked and went inside.

Well my great grandmother passed one year from a severe stroke and he was pretty tore up. Wondering why he got to stay and she got to go…he wanted to be with her tremendously to the point sometimes he would just sit in his chair with tears coming from his eyes (married 75 years). Well, from the day she passed my stepfather and I noticed that the “vibe” outside changed…but only with reference to the garage. We would walk by the two OH doors and it felt as though someone was watching you and if you really took notice of the feeling, a chill would run through your arms. For years, neither he nor I would step foot in that garage alone, much less at night.

We never had any issues though, just a VERY creepy feeling. Well about 6 years pass and my great grandfather passed on and from that point forward, the “creepy” feeling no longer came over us when we were out there. I could look at the garage and not get the feeling that someone was watching me from inside the window. My stepfather, who is a bit religious, assumes that the feeling was my great grandmother’s spirit waiting for my great grandfather to pass because once he passed, all was well.

This was about 10-15 years ago and to this day that garage feels like any other property, but for that short time, I experienced a feeling I have never had anywhere else.
