Lol, I'm with you man. EVERY car I have ever owned has been a manual.

My next car is going to be an auto...especially since they are now getting better MPGeees than a stick.

My recommendation is a Taurus Limited. 2010 - 2012 have 263 hp and are priced at or below what you are looking for. They tank in value, but are good cars.

They have cool things like A/C & heated Seats, Sync, rear window shade, automatic wipers, 6 color mood lighting and touch button start to name a few.

I know they don't scream "race car" but 28 mpg at 263 hp on regular gas with flappy paddle gear box is ok with me.

I've seen that particular g35 in person, its very nice. I was looking at g35's and similar cars in that price range and if any had been that clean for that price I would have got it, I couldn't find any pristine ones for less than 12k(bout a year ago). Ended up getting a steal on a Lexus

I'd look at a Camry Hybrid or prius. Of all the long commuting I've done I'd consider those again.

Heard a lot of bad shit about the 335's and turbo problems from a bmw tech. I wanted a 535 but he talked me out of it.

Not to mention, creature comforts like bluetooth, NAV, and heated/AC seats.

Driving that much is not fun, and I respect anyone who does it long term.

There's a local guy with a newer 335 that seems to have issues running at full strength in the Texas heat. Every he'd do a pull, his car would display something to do with "turbo overheat" and it'd go into limp mode. EGTs are a bitch.

I had a really clean '04 745i Sport. I couldn't get rid of that thing fast enough, as the parts and labor look like something from a horror film. The pimp white leather and sleek ebony body were to die for though.

Truth is, those 3 foresters will be running long after the Infinity runs up a mechanic bill that exceeds the value of the car. While the interiors of the Subaru sucks, their non-turbo cars run for fucking ever and a day.
Nope. Less than a 50% chance of getting a good one, and by that I mean one that will go better than 150k miles.

Priced a battery for either of those? Sounds like you should.

Dad puts on 80k a year so he gets the Lariats. If he is in the truck that many hours he wants the comfort.

Of those choices, the G35 is probably going to be the most fun (RWD and light), but know that you'd be stepping into a 10 year old car. It's more raw than the newer TL. I think this is a good thing, but maybe not for a 200 mile commute. Also there are a couple things to keep an eye on, most notably the compression rod bushings that wear out and clunk (Whiteline polyurethane is the fix) and the stereo/HVAC issue (the stereo fries and it's tied into the HVAC controls. Replacing that with a double din head unit and JDM trim piece is a $800-1000 adventure). Worthwhile trade off for me, but it's paid off and I drive 15 miles to work.
