Yeah, you can get the same hardware - but their OS is superior in a lot of ways. Then again it's not as mainstream so there are some limitations there.

With that said I have 2 iPads, 2 Kindles - all same/same to me. I have 2 standard laptops and 2 Macbooks - Macbooks are superior in many different ways. Now we're all iPhone too.

Did you make the right choice?
1. It's a little late to be asking now.
2. It's still a personal preference thing.

Youtube being slow seems like a network type issue, most likely not a software/hardware issue.

You can always build a hackintosh, and run a Mac OS on a PC.

The three I've built have been nothing short of a major PITA. But I was using older (not old) hardware that might not have been 100% compatible.
