How old are you? Even if you don't wear them for work, what the fuck do you wear to funerals? Jorts and a t shirt?

This thread is cracking me the fuck up.

Note to self, do not ask about clip on ties here.
"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin
"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury." -Alexander Fraser Tytler

For those that don't know how and refuse to learn how to tie a tie, grow the fuck up.
Three piece looks silly for work IMO and I've never seen anyone at work wearing one.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

I look at it another way. I have a lot of ties and know how to tie them. BUT,...why NOT a clip on tie? I mean in this world of everyone trying to do everything faster, easier whose to say someone couldn't make a high quality clip on tie that would never be questioned?

While they may seem aesthetically pleasing, I never understood the point of a tie. I mean, what guy was sitting around a few hundred years ago and just up and decided to droop a piece of clothe from his neck, and then it caught on??

It was used as a scrap of cloth to keep the shirt under it clean. Huge lecture on the history of business dress in sociology class but that's its start.

Well that's neat, learn something new everyday.

In this day and age though they serve no purpose except aesthetics, like a woman wearing jewelry.
