We are thinking of putting carpet down on about 1400 to 1500 sq ft. It would be 4 bedrooms, hallway, living & game rooms.

Check out Patina out in Southlake. They have a high quality carpet and it runs ~$3 for lots of their carpets installed. They use a 9lb pad minimum where as most companies like lowes and home depot use a 6lb and 8lb is their "upgraded" pad.
That being said, we are going with a flooring company in Grapevine called S&S Floors. They have the exact carpet we wanted (originally seen at Lowes) for $2.75/ft installed with 8lb pad. Lowes was $2.99 + $.40/ft for upgrading the pad to 8lb + $100 install. We are putting down about 1000ft

I shopped about forty places when we were looking for new carpet at our home in flower Mound. This lady in Mesquite had the best price by far. Her crew showed up, did the house in six hours and did an awesome job. Might contact her for a quote. Copy paste from an old email of hers.

Carpet
Here's a guy I've used a couple of times. Great and honest guy. I think his prices are good and does a great job. You supply the carpet or he can turn you on to a wholesale outlet. He can cut you a deal on padding too.

He's in North Richland Hills, but I think he services a wide area.
