I got ticketed in Highland Village as a teenage for holding a sign pointing out a speed trap. Took it to a jury trial and was found not guilty with a quickness. They also wrote me a ticket for speeding in a school zone once; I was riding a 10 speed bike at the time.....

Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

      Update:

Yesterday we introduced you to Ron Martin, a man who was arrested by Frisco traffic cops for holding a sign toward passing motorists that said "Police ahead."

Officer Thomas Mrozinski (that's his police vehicle pictured above) was trying to catch drivers going over the speed limit that day. When he discovered Martin, he arrested him and charged him with an obscure ordinance covering sign regulations.

Martin had his day in court yesterday afternoon, hoping the charges would be dropped. They weren't.

Instead, the city of Frisco is pursuing its case against Martin. Starting February 21, jurors will get to decide whether or not he violated Frisco's sign ordinance. You mess with Frisco's sign aesthetics, you face the consequences. (Lead-filled landfills, however, are totally cool).

This guy might have a shot at appeal:
A federal judge on Monday issued a preliminary injunction prohibiting the St. Louis County town of Ellisville from arresting and prosecuting drivers who flash headlights to warn other drivers of nearby police and speed traps.

They should fire everyone involved. What a fucking waste of resources and all because some cops have the feelings of ten year old girls...

I speed plenty, and top 100mph on the highway fairly regularly, but I am smart about it, and honestly wouldn't complain if I got popped with a ticket.
The last time I was in Cali I drove around 2000 miles. Went up the coast from SD to SF and back down through the Mojave. When I got home I saw more sorry bastards pulled over at 0200 on my 40 mile trip home from the airport than I saw cops period in CA. It's pretty easy to be smart about it on CA freeways. Especially when the average speed is over 70mph.

...and they've made it worse with the recent improvements on 114. Coming out westbound through Grapevine the speed limit is 65 all the way back from the Las Colinas area until you get around the William D. Tate exit, where it now drops to 55 for no apparent reason, and only for a mile or 2 until just after you cross over into Southlake....last I checked there was only 1 sign to indicate the drop for that short area, and it's not placed well at all. Those Southlake Dicks have been cleaning up on folks that don't drop their speed through that trap.

I haven't been nailed by them, but a bunch of our neighbors have...it's been posted several times on our community page.

Case Dismissed against the Frisco Man Who Warned Drivers about a Speed Trap

                    Thursday, Feb 6, 2014 at 9:54 AM

Frisco has some sort of ordinance that prosecutes humans who hold signs. The police know this, because they used that ordinance as an excuse to bust the man who waved a "Police Ahead" sign at passing motorists.

As we told you last month, Ron Martin was arrested by the very same traffic police he had been warning everyone about in the fall. The police vaguely explained in the arrest report that he had violated the human sign ordinance. At a recent hearing, the city decided that Martin's assault on Frisco's sign aesthetics was so serious that it would go ahead and charge Martin with a misdemeanor and spend tax dollars on a jury trial if he did not agree to a plea deal or pay the fine.

But now the city's case against Martin is dismissed. That's because Martin showed up to a court hearing on Wednesday with an attorney, who made a very simple argument: The police report documenting Martin's arrest makes no sense.

"They didn't even specifically accuse him of anything," says Mark Meisenger, the attorney.

Meisinger also wrote up a motion challenging Frisco's vague definitions of human signs under the constitution. A human sign is apparently "a sign held or attached to a human being or stands or walks on the ground, on-site at a business location," according to Frisco city code.

"The statute does not give a person of ordinary intelligence a reasonable opportunity to know what is prohibited, specifically," according to Meisinger's motion.

But Meisinger says he never even got a chance to even argue about all that in court. The Frisco Municipal Court judge tossed the case out based on a more rookie mistake: Police hadn't specified the actual statute number of the ordinance that Martin violated, or even written the ordinance's correct name down. (It's actually just called the Frisco Sign Ordinance, with just a little section in there that talks about human signs and what time and place they're allowed.)

The entire hearing, Meisinger estimates, lasted about 10 seconds. He agreed to represent Martin for free. "What am I really going to charge someone for a $200 ticket?" Though he also questions why Martin was even arrested on such a minor violation in the first place.

"They didn't have to jail him over a fine-only offense," Meisinger says.

The Frisco PD says it's still not commenting on the case.

The Gestapo can do whatever they feel like doing. I've learned a very long time ago, do not fuck with the MAN, period! Just like the guy that shot the bird at a state dog, he can't be arrested for doing that, but he was. His car was towed, the handcuffs were place on so tight that he was in pain for days if not weeks and he had to sit in a jail cell for over 24 hrs. He was then released and no charges filed, hahaha!

Again, DO NOT FUCK WITH THE MAN!!!
