Depends on if it's reason to live or shock me.

        • Customer comes in complaining of a knocking noise and vibration and loss of coolant. I pop the hood and see the engines PS pulley has cut a hole into the radiator reservoir because the engine mount is shot. Its so shot it has bent and ripped the torque mounts. It takes me 30 seconds to diagnose this. I tell the customer and they cop an attitude and say "How is you know dat? Youz neva even look at nuttin!" I did, the problem was obvious. Would you like me to repair it? "If dat ain it you GONNA give me my money back." Yes ma'am.

So, do these look worn at all?

Look how far it has bent the torque mounts!

I will try and set the phone camera up for when she comes in. Shes just under 5' tall and about as wide with a real nasty attitude and she wears her weave on only half her head and is always in a moo-moo. Always smells like Fritos too.

She actually seemed pissed when I just told her that the car was ready already. I told her I would have it back to her tomorrow morning but then the truck I was working on declined repairs. Well not repairs but a tune-up. 117k on a Ranger 3.0 and the plugs are burned to a .080 gap. He was ticked off that it wasn't covered under the warranty he bought. I explained that maintenance is never covered under an add on warranty but he wasn't having any of it.

EDIT: He JUST called me as I was typing this and said he just replaced the plugs and wires himself and now the CEL is on and its running worse. I asked him if he gaped the plugs. "Yes! I know what I am doing." Okay, what did you set the gap at? ".030 like its supposed to be!" Uh, yeah, no. Its .044 so that's probably one issue. Did you replace the wires one at a time? "No, its easy. Just line them up with the coil." I just went ahead and didn't correct him as to how 4,5,6 are actually 5,6,4 and will just charge him another $70 when he brings it back. I don't have all day to diagnose peoples cars so that they can incorrectly fix them and then go and tell them what they did wrong and how to correct that.

It was only partially used due to being dirty. They loosened up the clamp so it can sit with a gap between the filter and throttle body to get nice clean air in. LOL
