    • I work for the Border Patrol now and our sector is over 1000 square miles and only 8 miles is paved. The agents don't have a clue for the most part unless it's a horrendous noise or something is flopping around underneath the truck. I will say at least the government gives me the leeway to order whatever it needs to fix it as long as I have it in the shop. I have lost count in just a month and a half of how many ball joints I have done lol.

        • Jeep Wranglers(horrible engines), F250's and 350's(the worst so far in suspension), Tahoes, Chargers and just got a few new F150 Ecoboost trucks. I really not sure how the Ecoboost is gonna do in the mud and slime, the turbos and down low and the intercooler is low and angled down behind the front bumper.

I will say that I have hacked the bottom out of an explorer HVAC box in order to change a broken blend door. Used foil duct tape to seal it back up and it worked like a charm.

Have you seen how low the exhaust hangs down on those new bastards. Right in the center and super low. One of our guys found out the hard way.

                    • I manage an autoparts store

Had a guy come in asking for a check engine light on his Saturn vue. I always take out the digit scanner to just give me the code numbers as 95% of people have no idea what an oxygen sensor is anyways.

So as I'm walking out he is asking if an oil change could be the problem with his car, uninterested I said no why when's the last time you did it? He simply just repeated it's over due.

Scanner pulls 15 codes, his face doesn't change when I tell him there are 15 trouble codes and he asks again if an oil change would fix some of the problems. (misfiring on all cylinders, both cats out, oxygen sensors, cam sensor, the works)

I go inside and print out all codes and he is still convinced he just needs an oil change. He finally confesses he hasn't checked or changed the oil since he bought the car "like a year and a half ago" except for putting in a quart of oil whenever it said low oil.

Hey go get an oil change and have a mechanic look at your car I'm sure they can fix it for you. "ok sweet bro thanks".

There has been a 2011 528 BMW sitting in our parking lot for over 5 days because the owner cant afford a new battery until next pay check. Oh I should mention he asked every employee to help him take out his battery so we could charge it for him, then he started asking other customers to help him take out his battery so we could charge it. Told him a million times battery couldn't be charged and sure enough the BMW has been sitting in the lot waiting for his paycheck next week

The good part is we don't work on cars and I can tell them what is wrong with their cars, what parts they need, and tell them to research the install online. Oh and when the customer gets 5 check engine lights and ask what they need to buy to fix it I can tell them to go see a mechanic. Fifty times a day I hear "the car was working fine yesterday I was just driving it today and the light came on". They don't say it as a comical statement, they stare at you like they just have told you what the problem is and expect you to fix it in 30 seconds because the car was running fine yesterday

I still get customers, in the rain, asking me to get on the ground and change their fog light bulbs. But I'll buy them from you! Yeah let me tell you that $10 is sure going to make me rich while I lay on the ground in the rain to spend 20 minutes disassembling the front bumper. What why can't you change the headlights on my 2008 328i? You mean I have to pay some one to do that?

                      BMW owners are "unique"

                      • Prius owners are the same. "What do you mean its $100 to change the headlight bulbs if I buy them?" well, its $500 if I buy them and its $1000 if you go to Toyota. Congrats on buying a liberal douche canoe. Toyota actually wants $300 per bulb and $400 to install them.
Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

No, I haven't worked on the newer ones. I stick with the 96-01's.

Damn, I was bitching about $25 a piece on my silverstars for the corvette. Why are they so fucking expensive?

                          • Able bodied people that can't put their own wiper blades/bulbs/or batteries in their car bugs the crap out of me. Maybe its because they are always in front of me in line when I need something from the local parts store. I hate having to wait for the guy at the counter to pull my part due to he's out in the parking lot installing wiper blades on for the retards that are either too lazy or stupid to do it themselves.

What company are you with? PM if you don't want to say on here.

JC216, a lot of newer cars have HIDs, which pretty much start at $100 each. In 2013 the Mustangs all come with HIDs factory, even the 6ers.

Sort of. I helped a guy troubleshoot his G37 and we had to drop the whole front assembly to get to the bulbs. Turned out to be a bad assembly after we tested the ballasts and three fuses. What a PIA but on the bright side he said his front end never looked so straight after we got it all put back together.
