I had similar but not really yesterday. Eclipse flooding the driver foot well. I shoved a screw driver in the hole on pulled out some mud dobber larva. Then it just dumped water for a couple minutes. Lady was all pissed off because it too five seconds and she said her husband said he would get to it for 2 months now and she has ruined $600 in shoes. I don't understand womens shoes. I spill gas and oil and all kinds of shit on mine and they are fine.Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

On one hand, after seeing the "what-in-the-ever-loving-fuck" of a truck you put any body part in, I couldn't deal with that shit and would send him packing...

Fun one today. Regular customer that also sends me customers all the time brought his sons 2001 Ranger in. Apparently the truck runs bad and he wants to sell it for a grand but wants it to run. I go outside and you can see the truck shaking while just sitting there. I pop the hood and poke around and see the cam position sensor is not hooked up. Well that's an easy fix! Then I notice its the older style synchronizer and ask him about it. Turns out it had a bad water pump, son was told not to use it but did anyway and blew the motor. The one in it is from a 1996 Taurus. LOL
I explain the difference and tell him I can just swap it to the newer style. let him know if it wasn't driven too long that its a good chance the engine is still okay. He tells me they have been driving it like that for 2 years........ yeah that motor has to be hurt. He still elects to try the synchronizer replacement. That's where it gets fun. I unbolt the head, make sure I have my alignment and then unbolt the hold down and grab it to pull it out. It wont budge. Tap it a bit, no go. Pry with the 1' pry bar, no dice. Wrap a chain around it so I can get some leverage and still cant do anything. Set the 4' pry bar up and it just snaps the head off the synchronizer. Well hell, drastic measures time. He only wants a grand so I figure if I break it I can buy it and slap a new motor in and still come out ahead. So I remove the hood and hook the engine hoist to the rest of the cam synchronizer and start to lift. Truck was an inch off the ground before it let go. Came out clean though, no damage. Slapped the new one in, got the truck to run much better but still not great. Turns out he washed out a couple cylinders and compression was down to 30psi on 3&5. Oh well, at least I got to do something redneck today.

Working on really bad smelling cars is tough. Have had two real bad ones.
First was a Windstar, had a dairy product that had to have been in the nice Texas sun for a week. Drove into the stall, door open, windows open, holding my breath. Quickest p/s pump install ever did on that one!
Worst was an Expedition. Came into work with a nasty hangover on a Saturday morning at the Stealership. First job of the day. Rear brake job. While setting lift, noticed (smell first) vomit on running board right at the rear edge. After getting some fresh air and a few dry heaves, rubbed a lot of Vicks Vapor rub in my mustache, and got to work. That almost worked great. As long as I did not look at it, I was okay.
No, I was not going to clean it off, Not paid enough for biohazard removal.Some cars and a bike...

When I sold cars had a lady trade in a old windstar too. Missing all the seats and and had a 5gallon bucket as a drivers seat. Idk if it was flooded or what but the whole carpet was wet even getting into it and soggy/smelly. I never got inside the used car manager never even went near it. After we traded it in we called a wrecker and he didn't want to get into it.
He grabbed a hazmat type mask and put it on before putting the car in neutral.
Funny thing is the lady drove it from south dallas to west fort worth.

Now the customer that had me contemplating homicide was a simple $400 bumper job. He dropped the car off at 4:00, I told him I needed the car at least 2 days. He called the next day at 2 hour intervals wanting to know if his Camry would be ready by closing time, and got angry when I told him it would be ready the next day. That was not acceptable because I had said two days and he dropped it off the previous day. I call him the next day at noon to let him know the car was ready, he shows up before I hung up the phone. We go to walk around the car and he pulls out a magnifying glass and starts to "inspect" the repair. He then starts griping about things that we had nothing to do with, even tried to blame us for the hail damage on the car. I told him his car stayed in the shop both nights, and at that time we hadn't had a drop of rain for a month. He backed off there but demanded a heavy discount for the inconvenience that I caused him by "lying" to him about the repair time. I told him I would knock off $50 if that would make him happy. It didn't. I finally told him if he wanted his car it would be the price on the ticket, and I pulled his car back behind the fence then went back to my desk just in time to see a police car pull in to the drive. After 45 minutes of back and forth I got my cash he got his car. Shortly after that I went back to doing Cat work.Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.
