So I got in my ghetto 2004 Mustang to drive to work this morning. I noticed the door was ajar - and unlocked. Once I got in the car I noticed my ham radio unit that I keep under the seat was on top of the seat. I opened up the console where I keep the head unit and the console was cleaned out. They also took the DVD player that I keep under the seat - but they didn't take the second screen or the powercord. Fucking stupid thieves.

More thankful than mad - they didn't take my tolltag - or my cellphone earbuds. My car still had all four tires and started right up - but the hood was unlatched. About $600 worth of damage - could have been a lot more - my guess something spooked them and they left quickly. Still feel pretty violated.

Damn, that sucks. So they took the head unit to your ham but not the xceiver? lol

Yeah they took the head unit - it's an icom 2800 - they had the base unit out from under the seat and had the coax disconnected. Don't understand why they just didn't disconnect the powercord and take it too. I guess lazy is a better word than stupid - half ass carjack job.

If you live in an apartment, just put the stock radio back in.

They used to break into my sisters truck and steal the change out of her ashtray. They'd hit the entire complex and only steal change.
