That is what is more and more sounding like what happened. That 43 year old started threatening the 71 year olds life, maybe even a punch or two and the 71 year old went bang. He then apparently sat down with the gun in plane site waiting for the cops.

If that is the case good for the 71 year old.

Witness accounts say that he victim threw popcorn at the old man, wife stepped in to diffuse it, old man shot victim (and wife) and sat back down. I don't think the old man was waiting for LEO as much as the off duty cop present held him at gun point until LEO arrived. 2 male nurses triaged the victim until EMS arrived.

I would have held a hostage till the movie was over. All the guy had to do was silence his phone. But instead he played stupid games and won stupid prizes. Sometimes it is good to be courteous
