Probably still going to buy a new Denali truck in a year or two, but I tip my hat to Ford for taking the aluminum plunge. That substantial of a weight savings is going to help their CAFE immensely and the pocket books of owners with noticeably better fuel economy. Truck will probably drive more easily too. The current half-ton Fords are pretty ponderous to wheel around town.
After driving one daily since November I would have to disagree with that statement. While it's certainly not nimble like a sports car (or sport sedan) I've found it to be quite a comfort out on the road....easy city driving, parking, etc. By comparison to many other trucks I've owned/driven, I certainly wouldn't classify it as ponderous or laborious.
Yea, I'm with Rreemo on this. GM trucks are great rides too but I've had zero issues getting around in my truck. Parking is a cinch too with that backup camera. I rarely bother parking nose in now. I can back it up perfectly between the lines (I know there is a sexual innuendo in there somewhere) That new F150 is practically park itself.
On long road trips, oh hell yea, that is the best vehicle.
On that term - I would have to say the egregious ass-pounding I had to take from GVF on my way to finally getting into this truck ...does that count?
10 years of doing business there, 6 vehicles and $150K+ spent...2 family referrals plus numerous friends and co-workers...none of that meant a damned thing when it came time for them to make it right...instead they used it as an opportunity to screw me....royally! Zero customer loyalty from that shithole!...I'll never do business there again, and EVERY single person I can tell will hear the story too.

Yea, I just went new GMC, was worried what the new f150 would look like, but since it doesn't really resemble the Atlas I'm glad I went the direction I did. Had it looked similar to the Atlas I'd have been pissed at myself.

I never posted about it...its a real long story to type all out, but the shortened version is that I bought a "certified pre-owned" 12' F250 from them...within a week several issues started popping up with it, one of which was pretty serious. I talked to a manager (Mike Ivey) who agreed no problem to make it right and trade me back out of it....then that piece of shit turned into a vapor....never returned any phone calls and never showed his face when I went up there. Got about the same treatment from every other manager that I was put in touch with....TOTALLY blown off!
Finally worked with someone else who first expected me to just trade that shitty truck back in (they accepted ZERO responsibility), and had the gall to offer me ~$6500 less than I paid for it as-if that was doing me a favor.
I did finally get out of that truck, but in the end I lost about $4000...b/c they put a POS on their lot, misrepresented it, and took no responsibility whatsoever.....even though they false advertise this bullshit all over their facility and website - http://www.grapevineford.com/love-it...it-promise.htm
