  • Living on a golf course

Found a lot that we like but it is on a golf course about 100 yards from the whites. For those that live on a golf course how often do you have to replace windows? Sad thing is I nailed a planters pot three houses down a year ago so have to ask.

My dad lives on the course in Grand Prairie. They are up hill on the 3rd fairway (or maybe 2nd), I haven't heard of them ever having to replace any glass and they have been there over a decade.
If you design it right I don't think you would have a problem.

Brother lives on fright side of fairway at about 150-175 feet.. Finally put plexiglass over outside of glass. Doesn't park cars in driveway. On the flip side, makes beer money selling used golf balls. In good weather he gets 20 plus balls in his yard a week.

100 yards from the tee box seems like slice/hook territory to me, but would really depend oh the course layout. You say lot so I assume no houses are built yet. Is there a fence so they cant retrieve their bad shots? If so, how many balls are resting on that lot in what would be your living room? Though IF an issue, im sure the developer is picking them up frequently.

We walked the lot yesterday and I looked at surrounding houses, didn't see any balls but I know there are people like me out there every day playing. There is a small metal fence that all the houses have which makes it harder for people to retrieve the balls. Maybe I will hook up some electricity to the fence for the fun of it.

There are houses built there, just an empty lot right now.

Really depends on course layout. I would never want to be ~100-200 yards on the right side of a par 4 or 5.

If you're near a green or tee, that's a lot easier to accept due to hacks like me.

                All depends on course layout.

I'm on a golf course, but I'm on the 17th hole. So the approach is mostly golfers using a wedge to get to the green. I've only found 3 golf balls in 5 months. The closer you are to the tee box the more likely you are to getting damage from golf balls. Some HOAs will allow nets but you have to check.

When I lived on the Ridgeview course I only had one stray golf ball, but I was at the green. At Craig Ranch I've had no stray golf balls in the yard, but I do have a golf ball sized dent in my A-pillar of my car when I got smacked while driving down Settlement Way towards a tee box. Sounded like a gun went off in my car.
