New Shiner beers

so today I was at wallymart and saw the new Shiner 102. It's what they are calling a double wheat. it's filtered, and sits in a little higher ABV than usual wheat beers. I bought some, and it's nothing to be excited about IMO. Would be a good summer beer being that it's wheat and could be refreshing in the heat.


The second new beer is Shiner's Light Blonde. They pretty much have taken their Shiner Blonde and made a light version of it.

I'll most definatly be trying that blonde light, but wheat beer is not my thing.

One day they'll release the Kosmos Reserve in 6 packs, hopefully.

One day they'll release something that's actually worth drinking. Though I did partially like the Smokehaus and 100 beers.

just saying, Shiner is fine at the bar when it's your only choice... but in the grocery and beer stores around here, they want to charge $8 for a 6 pack... if I'm paying that much for beer, I'm going to buy beer with actual flavor

Not all Shiner's are good, but the ones that are good are really good.

Bock, Blonde, Light, and Black are all sensational imo.

Anyone tried the Shiner Dortmunder? I saw it at the store last week but opted for some Mendocino Blue Heron instead.

I really like the Hefeweizen, but my new favorite is the Kosmos.

It's supposed to be the same as the Frost from last year, which I thought was really good.

The dortmunder is worth a try. I don't remember what the frost was like last year - can't say if it was the same or not.
