Don't go on cruises; they never end well. Titanic, the jaws hunting fiasco, engines going out, pirates, ships capsizing, afloat with no power, everyone getting sick, nothing good happens during a cruise.
I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

The last time my debit card was compromised it was after a cruise, I don't remember if I used it for the ship or not though. I did try to buy gas at a very shady looking station in Baton Rouge with it though, and that's where I think the skimmer was.

It was $11 at a dude ranch in Utah, $400+ for a hotel in Ireland and $700+ for a hotel in the UK. Chase killed the card after the dude ranch charge and it didn't cost me anything but was a PITA for a few days.

You guys that are scared of cruises are missing out. They are one of the best vacations you can take IMO. If you find the right deal, it can be a cheap vacation. I took my family of 5 on a cruise for $1200 to Cozumel. 4 nights, all food is included, etc... No excursions that are big $$$. It was cheaper do that than to drive to Tennesee to go to dollywood and white water rafting again.

We are taking the Disney cruise out of Floriday for my kids' spring break in March.

As far as the credit card thing, sorry to hear. Did you keep it either on you or locked in the safe in the room the entire time? Use it to pay for drinks from one of the servers? We always just charged things to our room on our ship card and only carried credit cards when we got off the boat to do any shopping. But I want to say we also used mostly cash when shopping off the boat.

                  I'll never understand

why people use their debit cards these days. I haven't carried one in years. Why use something directly linked to your bank account when you can use a credit card and put an extra line of defense between the thief and your money?

Taking the Triumph next month, my 3rd time on the ship. I went to Richmond/DC in September last year for 5 days and it cost more than taking my wife on a cruise to Cozumel/Progreso with an ocean view cabin on the 10th deck.

Heck we went on the Magic last year (same route Jyro took) and had a spa cabin and the trip cost less than my last bachelor trip to Vegas. The casino at Atlantis is as nice as anything in Vegas!

Yeah, Triumph was the cheap one we took the kids on. My only compaint when on the Triumph was that the shower temperature wasn't regulated very well, it would go up and down to hot or cold and wouldn't stay steady. Oh and their TV connection is based out of Florida, so they couldn't get the Texans game on the big screen that Sunday. We had an angry mob of Texans fans that went all over the ship chanting, "put on the Texans, put on the Texans". We went to the customer service desk demanding they put on the Texans game since it was either a first playoff game or the last regular season game. It was fun LOL.

My first cruise was on Carnival Conquest with my wife. Was fun, more of a party ship than a relaxation ship.
2nd cruise was on Royal Carribean Oasis of the Seas. Much nicer ship than Carnival, way better shows/theater, and very relaxing
                      3rd cruise was Carnival Triumph.
4th will be Disney ship out of Florida.

We love cruises. Nothing like being able to spend a week and not have to go anywhere unless you want to, coming back to a clean stateroom when you left all your clothes and crap all over the place, having free food available 24x7, and all the other good things about cruises.

agreed. most credit cards have much better protections too.

We're gonna' take the CCL Magic out for a spin over to the Bahamas later this month...

Always have a good time and it's hard to beat the price for a 7 day vacation.

oh btw... I don't get the Debit Card thing either... unless you have bad or no credit, it's too risky for my interests.

I never used the card on the trip, all charges went through the ship ID that was linked to my account through the booking. It didn't cost me a thing but still waiting on the new card, we also use the account to pay all the house bills through email.
