Same here, just retired an 01 yellowtop from my 07 f150. The new ones seem to be junk though.Originally posted by BP View PostI had an Optima that went through 4 different vehicles before it wouldn't start a car anymore, probably 7-8 years. I still actually use it as a backup to jump my mower and 4 wheelers so really it's more like 15 years old now.Big Rooster Racing "Dare to win well."

I've seen a factory Delco go more than 12 years. I've also seen many of them fail in less than a year.

That one was a one off.

Most car batteries can fail at anytime around 5-6 years.sigpic18 F150 Supercrew - daily

I took an interstate out of service one time that had a hot stamp that dated it over 12 years. The battery case was starting to swell, otherwise the battery was still good. Interstate battery's are hard to beat. everyone would steer clear of them because of the cost, just can't understand why they cost so much, because you get what you pay for. Now you go to walmart and pay damn near 100 for a battery that was 65 just a few years ago. Optimas have doubled in price too.

5.5 years on the z06 OEM battery.Originally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.
