for the first time ever, my family didn't exchange a single gift... it was glorious!
Last year my parents got me a semi-rare, out of print book that my favorite movie is based on. Coolest gift I have ever received.
I got a truck I had been looking for for a LONG time and my wife got a 2014 Sonata Limited 2.0t. My dad got one for my mom too! LOL

Couple gift cards, some clothes, code scanner, and random snacks. My family always gives body wash and shampoo type stuff in stockings. Not too exciting but less crap I have to buy so I'm happy.
I don't expect much, most of my family lives on the poverty line. My kid made out like a bandit though. Truck was loaded down07 f250-family truckster

I got to spoil the kids and watch them open presents Christmas morning. That's all I really wanted.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

coolest gift i received...
This was my great-grandfather's blanket that was issued to him at A&M in the early 1900s. He was in the corp from around 1918-1921 (trying to get official dates) when he graduated. He passed in 1993, and my grandmother (his daughter) passed around 15 years ago.
So the story of how I got this blanket goes like this. My grandmother's old neighbor from across the street before my mother was born, has been trying to track my mother down for years. He finally found a mutual friend, and let her know he had this blanket, and that he had been meaning to get it to my grandmother many years ago, but they lived in different cities, and never saw each other. He ended up giving it to the mother of one of my mom's sorrority sister's mother, from college at A&I. She got it to a friend of my mom's, also a college friend, who my mother sees quite often. She brought it to my mom, and my mom gave it to me for Christmas.
We are going to have my great-grandfather's Name, Rank, and years attended embroidered on it.

I was able to give my kids a Christmas, that's all I wanted, plus I got to spend it with my parents and my FIL sent us a nice chunk of cash.
I got a gift card from the mother in law and a whole heap of stress because my wife's family, minus my FIL (who lives in the NE), likes to use Christmas to showcase their awesomeness at this time of year when they couldn't give two shits the rest of the year. I'm thinking about doing next year out of town to avoid it all.
