They had trouble in Boston it appears.....

UPS says shipments that were supposed to arrive by Christmas Eve will not be delivered until after Christmas.

BOSTON (CBS) — UPS says shipments that were suppose to arrive by Christmas Eve will not be delivered until after Christmas.

Although drivers worked late Christmas Eve trying to get packages to destinations, those left over will be delayed until at least Thursday morning.

The company blames a larger-than-expected demand on the backup.

The company released a statement Tuesday evening:

“UPS understands the importance of your holiday shipments. All of our drivers are out making deliveries throughout the day and into the evening. The volume of air packages in our system exceeded the capacity of our network as demand was much greater than the forecast, resulting in some shipments being delayed. We expect a vast majority of these packages will be delivered the day after Christmas. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. For the most-up-to date information, click here to track your specific shipment’s progress on UPS.com.”

They would not say how many packages have not been delivered, only that the delays are nationwide.

It took 9 days for FedEx to deliver a package to me; ordered it on the 15th. 3 day shipping my ass, but it was free shipping so I wasn't too upset. UPS hasn't delivered a package my sister ordered at the beginning of the month, it's still in California.

Having them deliver my shit after paying more to avoid them chaps my ass.

You can require signature confirmation...however, USPS may still offer that as a solution for UPS packages and get it delivered. However, if the delivery address is not manned, you may end up having to pick it up at the P.O.

One of my orders from Amazon that I paid extra for "guaranteed Dec. 24th" didnt make it. Got this email Christmas morning.

Due to a mechanical issue with our shipping carrier's aircraft or truck, your package may be delayed by 1 day. UPS will deliver the package as soon as possible. We're very sorry about this delay and we appreciate your patience.

and then got a separate email a few hours later saying the shipping charge will be refunded. Cant really complain, in fact I think their quickness to respond was pretty darn good.
