Is there a way to ensure that UPS/FedEx doesn't hand your packages off to the USPS? Just like above, I purposely spend more to avoid using the postal service, and have even not made purchases from eBay sellers and certain companies due to not wanting to deal with the damn postal service. Having them deliver my shit after paying more to avoid them chaps my ass.

Don't think you have a choice. I think it's purely up to the carrier.

My dad was told by the local(ABI) UPS hub that they currently had 15 semi-trailers in the yard they were working through as fast as possible. Between the Christmas rush and the storms a few weeks ago they are WAY behind.

              This.

After a weather delay, especially during peak, you just asshole and elbow everything into any truck that runs with a driver that has a pulse just to get it out.

I've had a package sitting on a trailer at the hub in Mesquite since the 17th

We haven't seen delays on our FedEx parts at the office except for 1 where they tried to deliver at 945pm last friday night. Long after everyone was gone.

After the ice storm combined with the holidays UPS is waaay behind. I was talking to one of my distributors and they told me UPS had to fly in 1,000 employees into the Mesquite hub to catch up. When I just shipped some packages at the UPS hub in Arlington they had a cop hired to regulate, apparently people have been getting unruly about the delays...
