Good for you. I'm sure it's inexplicably awesome to be back for a while.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

It's a shame you will miss Christmas, but good to see you get some time home. I will be home in January too, but my plane ticket will be one way. I am just waiting for my company to tell me when I can leave.

We're sliding to Virginia for two weeks. I have my guns stashed off the property, and I'm ready to get on the road.

Thanks, it is. This will be the longest I have been able to stay AT home in over a year. Now that I have made my tax exemption qualifications, I am spending all of them from here on out at home......that is if I don't get my next gig I am eyeing.

For Muslims, Dubai puts on a HUGE Christmas participation. The city is pretty cool that time of the year.

You will appreciate this. Garrison Command is basically saying that as of January 1st, operations like DFS, ESJ, and AeroTech are not permitted to operate from BAF. So in short: NO civilian charters in/out. We are confident that cooler heads will prevail and a 23rd hour decision will pull their heads out of their collective assholes and retract that. With over 40,000 civilians on BAF they just don't see the mess they are creating. What were they thinking? Everyone fly through germany, kuwait, manas on military birds from BAF?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Wow... I haven't heard about that. MilAir is already horribly congested and is only complicated by how unorganized it is. I can't imaging how bad it would be if it is our only option to depart theater.

My entire family lives in the Dallas area, so need for me to travel except from one side of the metro to the other. I like it this way, no way I could handle fucking with airports during the holiday rush...

They are trying to make life as miserable as they can on contractors after they openly admitted to my country manager "we hate you guys, you make too much money, you are unqualified...". Funny coming from reservists/guard that have been here for no more than 2 months when most of us have been here for years. They are moving us into LAMS-A tents over on the Warrior side too. Can't fuck with me when I look at my paystub and smile. Take away my R&R though and I will pop smoke in a heartbeat.

Military hating contractors is nothing new. The 401st compound next to Warrior is where I used to work, so I am familiar with the area and know exactly which tents you are staying in. The Warrior DFAC is pretty good, but for a real treat (please note the sarcasm here) you should head over and eat at the Yelner DFAC.

If you go to the gym, I would recommend the Air Force gym near Yelner. I wish I remembered the bus stop numbers, but there is a small trailer PX (not the Warrior trailer PX) near the Yelner DFAC. Right next to the trailer PX is a small Air Force compound filled with Alaskan tents for billeting. The last tent on the left is a small Air Force Gym. When I left it didn't get too crowded and it was Air Force, so all of the equipment was brand new. It isn't that big but it doesn't get crowded like the Warrior gym or the AC First gym on the 401st compound.

Well we are not in the LAMS-A tents yet. We put in a contract modification request to build out the interior to prevent TIPS violations. I doubt they will approve it so I doubt we will actually move into them. Fine with me, I am still on the West side for now.

I have eatin at every DFAC on this base. Warrior BBQ Tent is my favorite if I can not get in the JOC DFAC. Since I have employees spread everywhere here, it requires me to be familiar with all the little nooks and crannies on BAF. Kind of a perk.

But yes, contact hating is old news. I used to say they taught a class in their pre-deployment work-up on how to complain about us. This new group is just taking it to a all new level.

Yep, travelling to DFW (exciting I know). We depart at 5:30 tomorrow morning, so I don't expect there to be too many people at the airport yet, and I'll hopefully sleep the whole flight.
