Anyone know what is going on out at Texas Motor Speedway today? There is some type of older WWII era aircraft flying around all day doing acrobatic maneuvers with multiple helicopters following and filming. One of the helicopters is following sometimes at extremely close range while the other looks like it is hovering stationary filming. There are also several camera crews on the east side of the track just off the I35 service road doing filming. Some of the cameras on the ground are huge so they could be IMAX related. This started very early this morning and has been going on all day. Pretty good entertainment for a good part of the day at work.

Red Bull Air Racing had the plane flying around this weekend doing aerobatics as well.
They are having a championship race in September 2014 at TMS

Well considering I was watching the plane from our control tower about 1.5miles away I can't give you much more than that. I drove by and they were filming but never actually got a view of the plane until I was at work quite a ways away. I have never really had an interest in aircraft so couldn't give you any specifics other than it was a single engine and sounded great.
