Yeah, I get that. BUT, I said the kid gave the parents a defense, not an assured victory. The families will sue the insurance companies, and possibly the owner of the alcohol. And I'm sure they'll go after Couch family, but that doesn't mean they'll ever see a dime. Hogan settled, I'm not sure the terms of the settlement either.

Also, what were the circumstances of that case? Hogan is more public than Couch is (and Couch, the old man, never purchased a fuck).

There won't be any justice for the families involved in this case.

There is also a hell of a big difference between winning a case and perfecting a judgment.

If that were only true, the prisons wouldn't be filled with punks like him. Not enough get their "tickets punched" before they harm another again.

Exactly! Walking through the metal detector, rolling his eyes at authority, stumbling around.... Fucking pathetic!

Couch suffers from “affluenza,” according to his lawyers, a term which means that his wealthy parents pretty much let him get away with everything. The defense saved him from a 20-year sentence; State District Judge Jean Boyd bought it at his sentencing on Tuesday and gave Couch probation instead.

He never learned that sometimes you don’t get your way,” Gary Miller, a psychologist assigned to Couch said in court. “He had the cars and he had the money. He had freedoms that no young man would be able to handle.”
It looks like his parents taught him the truth.

The optimist in me wants to think this kid will see the light and do something with his life to help mankind.

Then the reolist in me slaps the fuck out of the optimist and concludes he will be the fuckstain his parents raised him to be, and nothing good will come of it.

Saw this on CNN. Kid will fuck up before 10 years like others have said. It would be really hard to live with if that was my family he killed. Hope the family's sue the shit out of him and his family in civil court.

None at all. He killed/maimed (sp?) those people and he has showed no remorse for his actions. As usual, mommy and daddy came to the rescue with a very good attorney and they will ship him to California where he will live an upscale lifestyle with the rich and famous.

Like someone else said, he will fuck up again but they will can just rinse and repeat unit the money runs out.
