Awesome! The reviews were really good on it, so I figured it'd serve me well. It's really quite a nice car for an entry level model. It gets good MPG, looks half decent, and is incredibly basic. Manual windows, manual transmission, easy to work radio, and an efficient use of space make it the perfect daily driver.

Seems like this fits the age-old venn diagram.

              You know... fast/cheap/reliable, pick two.

In this case I think it would be... fun/cheap/good mpg, pick two.

I can think of a lot of cars that fit two of the three, but none that satisfy all three criteria.

I guess fun is relative. I'm driving a raggedy Explorer Sport Trac right now, so anything that handles and drives better would be fun.

Well, this is what I ended up with. Not the best on fuel, but it's a decent little car. It's a 5 speed manual, so it's sort of fun to drive.

Those are pretty cool cars. Always liked the styling.

Is it a 4 or 6 cyl? Keep an eye on the catalytic converters. They have a habit of disintegrating and recirculating material into the intake. Many engines have been grenaded (mostly 6cyl) due to this issue. The fix is a set of headers and aftermarket high-flow cats. Honestly, this is one of the main reasons I chose my G35 over a Mazda6. The other reasons being a preference for RWD and not giving a shit about MPGs.

It's a 6cyl. The only reason I didn't get a g35 ifs because my wife already has one. I've come across the cat converter thing a time or two. I totally forgot about that issue. I may look into a header, just don't want to rice it out.

                              Nice addition. I've been contemplating a Mazda 3 S as a commuter ... everything I've read says they're a fun/lively little daily.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Headers would be in no way ricey. It's preventative maintenance on what could be a time bomb. I've never heard of any real issues beyond the cats on these cars.
