Thanks guys, didn't really mean to come across as justifying the purchase, just sharing a little info on the parts under the sheet metal that give Land Cruiser it's well-earned rep. Is it overkill for my wife and me? Probably, but I don't care. Better to have too much than not enough when the zombies attack.

Honestly, it really came in handy this weekend for the trip to the hospital for the blood work. Thanks for the well-wishes on my wife.

Not jealous at all, just sticker shock when I saw MSRP. Like I said, it is very nice, and I am sure 10x more reliable vs any other Lux SUV.

They are high, but that is Toyota's top of the line SUV. They are bad ass. Nice choice! Hell, the 93 that I had was damn near $50k when it was new 20 years ago. I am a HUGE Land Cruiser fan (thats where my avatar comes from), so I may be a little biased.

I like the G-wagon, but it's been tarnished (in my mind at least) with it's association now with rappers, Kardashian, Paris Hilton types. It's definitely a solid, old school, military grade SUV. I prefer the soccer Mom, boring, blend in for the most part, styling of the LX with heavy duty guts underneath. Kind of the same deal with my CTS-V. I intentionally got white with chrome rims and took the badges off, so to most people, it looks like a grandpa Caddy. Stealth mode.

Unfortunately no butt massager, 03mustangdude. Pretty bummed about that. Will probably be in the next gen. It does have heated/cooled seats, but a massager would be nice.

Yep, crazy. I also looked at a used F250...$62k.

especially when you can buy a fully loaded, king ranch or platinum F250 with every bell and whistle for $55-57k at just about any dealer out there
