I don't blame you for trying, but surely you realize the purpose of the bill is to keep the courts from being backed up, so they almost assuredly will NOT reopen old cases to meet the new bill if it's passed, right? It would defeat the purpose.
You should have taken a plea deal, and had the charge reduced to begin with, rather than plead guilty. The folks I do know that have been arrested for DWI, were able to plea it down to "obstruction of a roadway". Granted, every case is different. Just trying to keep you from getting your hopes up, because reopening old cases defeats the very purpose of the bill. Hence why I said once you're convicted, it's done and overwith. I'd assume double jeopardy works both ways in this somehow, as well.
I understand that, just keeping my fingers crossed. I would've fought it, but I blew just over the limit. The only reason I blew is because I didn't feel drunk at all. Didn't even really feel a buzz.

Also, I'm not so sure it's a matter of reopening a case. Like I said before, you have to plead guilty to qualify for deferred anyways. It's not like all of a sudden I'm gonna say that I'm innocent. I don't know if anything will come of it, but it would be foolish not to try. If not, then I've got a few more hard years ahead of me.

I had $3k in unpaid charges get reduced to ZERO. Been suspended for five years because of that bullshit but I didn't get caught and those asshole didn't get their money.
No fucking way. I owe about 8k and thought i would never have a license again unless i won the lottery. what number did you call??

Ahhh, ok. You blew, so there really was no plea deal to speak of. The only time you can get it reduced in a plea deal is if you didn't blow.
Like I said, I don't blame you for wanting to try. Good luck, if nothing else.

But, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.

LMK ASAP!!!
Look up Texas Driver Responsibilty Program and enroll in the amnesty program. Wait a few business days and see what your balances are at. Any suspension gets lifted as soon as that happens(after 3 business days or so). The most you'll pay is $250.

Yea I did that and they reduced me to 260 bucks... SWEET!!
Excuse me? I'm a bottom feeder because I either already served my probation time, paid my fines & court costs, did community service, paid tickets? And then some third party wants more money from me after the fact or my license is suspended? Fuck them, I'll roll the dice on that and take my chances. Looks like I got lucky but I wasn't about to pay that money.

Yes, you are a bottom feeder for not paying your fines and driving with a suspended license for 5 years.
