leave an id to get fuel?

Can't believe that's the first time you've been asked for ID! Happens to me, even at Loves, TA, etc.

I guess I'm just used to putting the card in a pump, inputting a driver number and mileage and pumping fuel. Couldnt understand the need for an id. Fuelman card where put in a driver number I shouldnt need an I'd but I guess if I do I won't be buying fuel from that place.
