Oh wow, you found a story. Good job. I swear you always just pick arguments with me just for the sake of arguing. Have fun with that. I'll let the facts speak for themselves.

I dunno, but rain turns into sleet here and it works just fine. Like I originally said, you don't have the equipment. You can think what you want. You act like there's some huge difference in the sleet/ice there, the fact is Texas isn't prepared and they would benefit to outfit the DOT with the same equipment they have up here. Just a thought...

I measured 2-3" thick slabs when I was breaking the ice on my driveway today. The two mile stretch to get to the main road had melted in some spots. Unfortunately, most of it is shaded, so those were/are still solid ice. Main roads about Sherman are fine, though. Got to replenish the groceries!

Can't wait for the "I survived North Texas Ice Storm 2013!" T-shirts...

Well, on the way home from work Friday, I got to see 3 plow trucks pushing the ice pellets off the top of the solid ice underneath, and do nothing but scratch the surface of the ice on the streets and bridges. There's a reason they call them snow plows and not ice plows.
