We have 4 of those wire framed deer with the heads that move, 2 are old school lights and 2 are LEDs. The LEDs look blue.

I like the idea of LEDs for the life and energy usage, but hate the fact that they all seem to look blue.

I hang christmas lights on my days off during the holidays. I get all my supplies from a store here in Mckinney called Groom and Sons (Ace hardware).
LED's do have some advantages like being able to run more lights on a single outlet, more durable than the C7 & C9 bulbs (less susceptible to breaking) and some energy savings, but honestly youre really not going to be able to tell a difference in your bill unless you run your lights 24/7. The downside is they are less traditional and a lot more of an upfront cost.

I have gas heat (meaning electricity usage in the winter is not really impacted by the cold) but my December electricity consumption is always 20%-30% higher than the rest of the winter months, at least. C9 bulbs suck the juice.

That said, Our roof lights are white C9s and will remain that way. They just look far better IMO.

Such is my issue with them. For all of the quantitative positives about LEDs, they just don't feel right as christmas lights.

Not to mention they literally hurt my head to look at.
