  • Again, dead pitbull on the side of 287

I posted this up a long time ago, but once again I saw a Pit Bull discarded on the side of 287. In fact it's been there for since at least last Friday. The cold weather has kept it surprisingly intact and decomp free. Well, not surprisingly..... that's what 28-45* temps do to meat.

It pisses me off that people discard these dogs when they've served whatever purpose their owners used them for temporarily.

Southbound 287 between Berry and Miller.....

Edit...... that makes at least 15 I've seen in a years time. 287 in the Stop 6 area, and 820 between Rosedale and I-20.

I would drive from Mansfield to Downtown Fort worth for work. There was dead dogs on 287 ALL the time, at least one a week it seemed like.

I know what you mean. My office is at 820 and Sun Valley so I drive it daily. I see so many discarded dogs that it is heart breaking. You can tell they haven't been hit bc they are 100% intact.

That's the hood. They probably roam that area in wild packs.

Uh, you think they are just thrown there? Cars couldn't hit em and kill em?

The class of people who own them, what do you expect?

Sucks that people have so little regard for pets. Pitbulls are used for fighting/training and discarded all the time, wish the owners would get the same treatment!

Decades ago in my home town, dog fights used to occur in the bed of a pickup truck with a cap. The losing dog would usually end up on the side of the road, not far from the fight location.

You might be missing the point. I infer there is dog fighting nearby.
