  • Best time of the yr for car sales?

I've noticed that this time of the year there are some good rebates/deals on F150's. Noticed the same when a family member bought a platinum last year at this time.

My question is if you guys know if this is the best time of yr to be purchasing a new truck and is it due to the fact the 14's are hitting the lots now w/ the leftover 13's hanging out?

Your best "deal" will be on the oldest vehicle on the lot. When new year models roll out the older ones get discounted obviously. The fiscal year ends in September though, the best scenario would be buying a current year model the last day or September while they are unloading a bunch of next year's trucks.

Or just deal with the guys at Grapevine Ford that sponsor the page, it's better than waiting until next year.

Now is a good time to buy, mostly because sales slump at this time.

That's kinda what I thought but 14's just started hitting their lot few weeks ago. Prices now are far better than what I saw in September. GVF is where I typically look because it seems no one else comes close on the consistent basis.

Everyone selling used wants unrealistic prices. Ideally I would like to buy a slightly used truck... like Screw XLT 4x4, but guys are asking $30k and I can walk out of GVF with a new truck for $32k

I fought that when I was buying my truck many years ago. MSRP and blue book dont mean shit, if the trucks arent bringing that dollar. My truck was blue booking higher than brand new trucks on the dealer's lot were being sold for.

They'll find some sap that's upside down and willing to buy it at MSRP as long as they can roll some negative equity into the deal.

Just before the end of the year is when dealers are pretty motivated, because of both floorplan interest they have to pay, and tax implications. But they need enough time to actually get paid for it, so don't wait until 12/31.

I always thought December-April was a bad time of the year to buy due to the hood-rich getting Earned Income rebates.

They don't get it in December do they? I assumed they would have to wait until after 12/31 to file their return, no?

BTW, I wouldn't limit it to EIC only, rather all refunds in general. I know it's a bitch to find a decent cash car during tax refund time.

Dealers marking up prices, gathering stock for the incoming feeding frenzy. I have personally seen a vehicle on a lot go up in price as February neared.

I've done well at the last few days of Jan, and last fee days of Feb. I think they javent sold much and need something for end of month. Really end of any month when the dealers needs a sale to get the quota. Gotta find which dealer.

My best deals have always been in November on brand new.
