I don't think it was "for the homless". Judging by the fact the fact that he got out of the car to video the other guy getting out of the car to hand the pizza to the old lady, just gave the whole thing a "pharisees throwing a bunch of small coins into the offering so everyone could hear how much they gave" kinda feel.
