I already told you, it's a clean IP, and until there is proof otherwise, I don't think anyone is going to be willing to ban on suspicion alone, even if it is suspect.

Because there is only suspicion. The IP is clean. If the topic of the alias had been left alone there would have been more of a chance to let him hang himself, but by tipping him off, that chance has been severely diminished.

If that, then I would suggest that it is really easy to criticise from the outside. People have and always will bitch about moderating, on every board, forever. I'm pretty sure you are right, but Eric was calling for a ban based on a screen name and email address alone, which I fail to see as damning evidence.

I've been around this place since day 1. I think I have had disagreements with just about everyone on here at one time or another and I'm sure that most feel the same putting themselves in that statement. I can't recall a time that any issues has caused such a mess that it has actually influenced the integrity of this community.

I remember the last time I was out at Kennebelly and Dammitsteve came up to me with an honest gesture of friendship and handed me a beer (before I drank his cooler dry). There was a time that I would have walked him to the dumpster in a headlock and showed him the business end of waste management. Point is, there is nothing more enjoyable than seeing someone humble themselves and try to make right a lot of wrong. Shame on anyone for not giving them the opportunity to do it. I think Steve and Rodney both have been given ample warning and time to make right with the site. Take note that I did not say every single individual, but the site as a whole.

These bans are in the best interest of the community, not personal vendettas (or you probably would have seen someone like me gone long ago).

I'm not complaining about anyone not doing their job. I'm asking what sense it makes to ban someone and then allow them to make a new name and continue posting. If that Loki name and how he joined, became a VIP member, and then started posting about his Nissan or whatever within ten minutes of Rodney being banned isn't fucking obvious, I don't know what is. Who joins here and immediately gets a VIP Membership? Oddly, he is also posting at the exact same times of the day Nanus did as well. I guess we can wait for a drunken tirade in about another hour if his typical schedule holds true and then we'll have a smoking gun.
