Think about the quality of life for the second kiddo as well. Will the older sister and mom hold any resentment at all simce they both don't want it?

My youngest brother is 12 yrs younger than I am, we are pretty close. Even though I have a child of my own and am not around as often as I once was, he still is a big part of my life. Maybe even more so than my siblings closer to me in age.

My brother and I are 13 years apart and when my mom told him she was having another he had the same response as your kiddo. He went as far to tell my mom I was asian and the wrong baby so she needed to take me back. However, I won that jerk over and we are best friends. He is absolutely and wholeheartedly my best friend. We'd do anything for each other and we're always there whether we agree with the other's decisions or not. He's 37 and I'm 24 and we've been thick as thieves all 24 years.

However, this is something you both have to want or meet in the middle on somehow. I know first hand this can take a toll on one's emotional well being as well as a relationship so I'd flat out sit her down and have a heart to heart stat.

Aaron, put aside your desire for another one until EVERYONE in the house wants him/her around. Want all you want, plead your case, but only advance with your wife agreeing with you, not giving in.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Ha, I actually have an anecdotal number but it's severely skewed due to the San Francisco factor. Just taking a half-buzzed shot in the dark, I'd say $200 a month plus daycare (obviously the biggest factor and variable). A thousand a month for daycare (assuming infant) would put you at roughly $14,400 a year or roughly $18,000 tax effected.

I am 37 and my wife is 33 and together we have a daughter that just turned One 2 weeks ago. I would like another and so would she (a little more than me). It scares the shit out of me to think of being 50 to a 14 year old as it is.

I'd like to have another kid because i missed out on a lot of things with my son. Don't know if it will ever happen though. Im only 32 but its been in the back of my mind ever since my nephew went back to his mom's. I miss being there for him and doing all of the caretaking. Plus the one I have right now is close to getting punched in the throat so I need a distraction.

I need a son, that made me laugh out loud as my daughter sits on my lap watching Barney. She hopefully never needs a punch to the throat, or I'll be sending her to her momma for that.

And LOL @ the last reply asking for pics. A lot of the guys posting in here have met my wife, so they already know what she looks like. ;-)
at least he didn't ask for pics of daughter
