  • Should I do away with DVD and start collecting Blurays now?

    Retarded Question Alert:

I know I'm Waaaaay behind but picking up the xbox one and it plays Blurays. Is it safe to say that Bluray is here to stay for a few years or is there something new about to pop out? Just gonna convert the favorites over and anything new I buy.

I still convert to vhs. Some habits are hard to break.

I wouldn't buy anything new on DVD for sure but I also wouldn't waste the funds to re purchase your DVD titles on BR unless the movie is visually badass and should be viewed in 1080p.

Most of time I'll buy Blu-ray. Butter for regular DVDs on sale I'll buy it.

I've converted a ton of my collection. It's a huge difference in quality on most of them. Especially action flicks or visually impressive movies.

Don't feel bad about being behind on the times. I just barely bought a BR player back in Sept. Lol!

I heard there's this new technology called streaming that's coming out.

Seriously collecting DVDs/Blurays is absolete and a waste of space.

I'm definitely not replacing my entire collection and I rarely buy new ones now except for the must haves... Last one I bought might have been Dark Knight Rises. Just want to upgrade my favs, Back to the future, T2, the Batmans...

Just stop buying hard copies all together. Switch to a media server.

I still buy hard copies, but very rarely ever new. One of the perks of the pawn shop.

I agree with some above, only re-buy titles that would be a huge difference visually. No matter what format, Mrs. Doubtfire will always look the same!

Don't forget about 3D Blu Ray as well. Not that I really watch them in 3D, but it's nice to have the option on certain flicks (Iron Man 3, Pixar movies, etc.)
