I was on a jury a couple years ago where we found the guy innocent. we were excused and the cop who gave the guy a ticket literally stopped us at the door leaving the courtroom, blocking the door, asking us why we didn't find him guilty. I have always wondered if it was illegal for him to do it.

was the judge being a bully?
Don't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.
Be honest, even if it hurts.

Judge over reacted to the jury's under reaction.

If you get pulled over by him and he recognizes you, he would have a party!

          Copy/paste from dmv.org:

Below are the state's BAC limits:

21 years old or older: 0.08% Commercial drivers: 0.04% Younger than 21 years old: Any detectable amount.

          Minors and DWI
Like many states, Texas has a Zero Tolerance Law for minors and alcohol; this means drivers younger than 21 years old can’t operate motor vehicles with any amount of alcohol or drugs in their systems.
Good point...and you are right, minors are any detectable amount....I forgot about that. I remember this coming up recently with that kid that killed those 4 folks down in Burleson....he was still well over .08 anyway, but that made it all that much worse in his case.

I can imagine this particular judge see's a lot of shit come through his court....couple that to some sort of personal impact related to a DWI that we may not know about, and I can see where he'd fly off the handle. Not saying that makes it right...but certainly a little more understandable if nothing else.

Prosecution went for DWI and his age was inconsequential. Had he gone for DUI it would have been a slam dunk.

BTW fuck that jury for letting that kid off. Blowing just under .010 at 17? My mother would have pulled my brain out of my skull through my asshole just before my dad got done beating my face in with a tire iron.

That doesn't take very much at all. Maybe a shot of Lonestar?

Age doesn't mean shit as far as BAC is concerned. Realistically his younger, less damaged liver and kidneys should process the alcohol faster than someone in their 30s. Tolerance is another topic.

He was pointing out you said .010, not .10.
