That story is pretty far fetched but I hope you see my point. Even the thought coming to your head about "hypothetically" going to (putting your hand on or near) your weapon makes me think you need to do some more evaluating on if you should be carrying or not. With the original situation there is no reason the thought of your weapon should even come up.
