I like the Amsterdam and the Meridian Room. They're right next to each other. My friends and I go eat at MR, then do to the 'dam for drinks.

EDIT: I almost forgot to mention after drinking eats. You have a few really good options for the night of. Fuel City at I-35E and Industrial is where to get tacos. Buzz Brews on Central Expressway is a good place to get breakfast food. If you're looking to cure your hangover the next day, hands down the best place in Dallas to do so is the Goldrush Cafe, at Skillman and La Vista. There is positively zero fuck around in their game.

I agree on the Londoner. Great food and beer. Flying Saucer is also nice.

If you're looking for a sports bar type of place, Champps is good, but there is a slight to moderate chance of d-bags...usually not too bad, though. We go on Tuesday's and Thursday's sometimes after work for beer specials.
