green bottle of jack daniels

What's the difference between the green bottle of jack daniels and the regular old black bottle? I got a bottle of green for christmas and haven't tried it yet.. Just curious what the difference was.

Went to the website but didn't find anything as far as an answer.

if the label is green, its like a less not sure what the proper word is but I know its not as strong. and not brewed? as long as the black label.

Pretty sure it's aged 2 years where black label is 4 years. In other words it's smoother.

From what I understand, it has to do with the age of the whiskey. Green being less "matured" than the black. I think it might be a bit cheaper.

It's just as strong as far as the alcohol content.

The green is a little "greener" (less aged), and not quite as "smooth", though I don't consider JD smooth.

It mixes much better and I think it's smoother as a mixed drink but horrible as a sipper/shot.

Meh, if I were to drink now, it'd be Black Label since I like it straight, on ice. You wouldn't want to drink green label like that. Yack!
