my insurance was aware of where it was parked. That's the reason it was almost 2k a year for that one bike. They'd damn well better not pull that, or we'll be going to court.

I loved mine. I would still have it if the construction around here wasn't going on.

Take a hard look at the CBR 1000RR, it might not have as much HP as the other liter bikes on the market, but I have been impressed with the ones I have ridden. Don't discount a nice naked bike either. More fun than a sport bike IMO.

If I go Honda, the CB1000R may be a nice choice. Look at those if you haven't.

I was just drooling over some triumphs on youtube the other day as well. I'm always looking at bikes anyway.

However, I'm thinking at the very least I need to get a different apartment with a gate and garages, if not a house, sometime soon.

I never could stand the cb1000r's wheels.

The Triumph is always a great choice, the bike always felt more like it had more quality than the Jap offerings. I don't think I would own a bike without a place to tuck it away. It is just to easy to steal a bike. Even in a garage I used to chain the bike to a d ring I sunk into the concrete ... call me paranoid if you like.

I wonder if they'd let me do that in the apartment complex parking lot. Lol.

After the insurance issues get sorted out, I'll start doing some looking around at different bikes.

The insurance company is doing an investigation, which from what I could glean means they are waiting 10 days to see if the police recover it. After 10 days, I should hear from a total loss adjuster (as long as the bike isn't recovered) and we'll proceed from there.

Don't buy another one until you've got a garage man. The next one is going to get taken just like the first. Now the thieves know that they can get away with it.

I've been threatened with eviction over that. Apparently it's a fire hazard. I'm at least going to change complexes to a nicer, gated, garage-equipped one. Or possibly a rental house. Might even buy a house.

'gated' apartments are 9 times out of 10 a joke.. the fence is open most hours of the day, and when the fence breaks they just leave it open and its no big deal. Matt go find you a rental for a year, $$ will be comparable and it will give you a chance to discover what you do and dont like about a house before you own it.

I wouldn't worry about it. Complexes don't employ the brightest folks.
