Buy one with a couple thousand miles on it. They do take a huge resale hit because of the name, but the cars themselves are solid.

Kias are leaps and bounds above what they used to be. I heavily considered a Genesis sedan a few years ago.

Kia or Hyundai are your best bang for your buck. It is embarrassing to say but they are some of the best cars made currently. Honda and Toyota are falling behind.

Nissan altimas are pretty nice. Drove one to fla and back had decent power and was fun to drive.

Geor has looked between those options as well and I think he's going to go VW Passat or Jetta TDI if his car ends up being totaled by insurance tomorrow. I have a Passat and love it as does he.

Would a 2008 335i be any good? Still have the mentioned bullet proof drive train?

yep, very solid car.. i wouldnt be worried about modding it, the parts for those is (at least used to) be rather high, but a TT inline 6 will offer plenty for a DD.

I have a new Passat tdi and love it. Cant beat the 41mpg avg on the first 3 tanks. Tons of back seat room.

Fuck BMW. Too many sensors for too high of prices to replace.

Get a four door civi', focus, or the aforementioned TDI.

What about a Subaru WRX? 4 door, mid to upper 20's on the MPG's, plenty sporty.

I do, why would I want to stare at that ugly ass dash every time I drive it? If I'm going to pay for something I at least want to LIKE it!

Love the looks of those cars, the repair costs is what is scaring me away from the TDI....

After the price of gas vs diesel and the cheaper price of buying the car with a gasser I really wonder if the diesel is ever the cheaper choice.
