Does the air ride even come into play at such small weights? I really doubt there is much difference between air ride and spring for something like that. Surely he isn't shipping this on a flat bed??

It will be a noticeably harsher ride for something in a rigid crate. We're not even allowed to carry certain artifacts in our non air-ride Sprinter for that reason.

He hasn't really said how he's shipping it. We know he's turned down a generous offer......who knows what the OP will do next.
